Torque Calibration

Industrial Measurement Ltd is able to help customers obtain the appropriate calibration evidence for their required level of confidence. The company’s on-site laboratory has a range of supported beams, enabling the company to provide reference or calibration torques ranging from 0.1 Nm – 28,000 Nm and up to 165,000 Nm at external facilities.

Within Crane Group laboratory’s accreditation of its competence to ISO 17025 means that customers can purchase calibration certificates headed with the UKAS and ILAC accreditation marks. The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is a widely recognised authority for the accreditation of competence and is one of the signatories to the International Calibration Co-operation (ILAC) Arrangement for the mutual recognition of calibration certificates. The measurements reported in these calibration certificates are all performed according to the BS7882 – Method for Calibration and Classification of Torque Measuring Devices.

Not all of our customers insist on the BS 7882 calibration method and its UKAS headed certificate. Those purchasing certificates with the Crane Electronics Ltd heading are assured of full traceability of all significant measurements with these being performed on the same site and in the same calibration laboratory. These certificates typically list the results for ten measurements between 10% and 100% of the transducers rated torque – they do not require the calibration of the transducer and indicator as one unit.
